Itʻs all in the name…
Choosing a name for this company wasn’t easy. I considered several options, but none of them truly felt right. Then one day, a memory came to mind—a Christian movement from the ’90s called Promise Keepers. Almost instantly, the words Kūpuna Keepers came to me, and I knew I had found the name.
This business has been on my heart since 2018. As I finally began to bring the vision to life, I realized just how special the name would become.
For most of my life, I only had a vague understanding of my last name, Inman. It originates from England and was used to describe someone who managed an inn—a place of shelter and rest, the inn man or inn keeper. Curious, I looked deeper into the word keeper. What I found stopped me in my tracks: caretaker, curator, defender, guard, lookout, overseer, protector, steward.
It all started to make sense. My name carries a legacy of watching over others—of being a protector and provider of safety and comfort. Kūpuna Keepers is more than a name. It reflects my heritage, my purpose, and my belief that our Kūpuna—our elders—deserve to be honored, protected, and cared for in the place they call home.
This isn’t just a business. It’s a calling.
